From the album Strange Days (1967).
My first contact with The Doors was with the opening scene of Apocalypse Now (Redux Version) a few years back. I then started to explore their work, and now have 7 of their albums on my iTunes. I listened to it a lot while in Vienna, and somehow now their music is forever connected to warm and stormy Summer nights.
Jim Morrison is good but what I really find impressive is the work of the other members of the band – Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore – and their ability to keep up with his creative flow and burst of improvisations. They always seem to be able to pull together to deliver an amazing result despite Jim’s wanderings (specially in live concerts).
