Some people are incredibly creative. In another time and place we would never know about them! Although recently I have started to wonder about the down sides of the internet (mainly issues related to personal information and where it all goes to), it is still quite clear to me that the good thing is it allows most of us to express ourselves to a broader audience that we would otherwise. We’re incredibly lucky that the internet has allowed people like Dan (& Dan 😉 ) to showcase their work.
We are much less dependent on anonymous decision makers, sitting in a big office somewhere, deciding what we should see, hear, eat, wear, buy, etc., etc. Sure we also get other sorts of people trying to throw stuff at us but you can just actively decide you do not want to hear that person talk, or read about their bigoted ideas. You really only open the websites you want to, the news you want to read about, the videos you want to watch. No good in trying to blame other people for your own actions. It’s all in your power. Internet is, in the real sense of the word, a true Anarchy.
So, for now, yay to the Internet! But remember the wise words of uncle Ben “With great Power comes great Responsibility”.
